Lanzhou University of Technology (兰州理工大学) is located in Lanzhou, the provincial capital of Gansu province. Founded in 1919 as Gansu Provincial Technical School, LUT witnessed nearly one hundred years of development and now has grown to be a top multi-disciplinary university which features solid foundation in Engineering, increasing development in science fields and unique characteristics in liberal arts.
The total area of the two campuses (Langongping Campus and Pengjiaping Campus) is vast 400 acres. LUT has 19 colleges, one physical education department, one graduate school and one graduate school (Wenzhou Branch) in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province. LUT houses 27,075 students including over 400 international students from 39 countries and over 2,500 staff, of which more than 1,600 are full-time teachers.
LUT has 5 post-doctoral research stations, 6 level one (national level) doctoral programs, 46 level two doctoral programs, 23 level one master programs, 170 level two master programs and 66 undergraduate programs.
LUT covers 9 disciplines including Engineering, Science, Management, Arts, Law, Education, Medicine, Fine Arts and Economics. Among all the programs, Engineering and Materials Science ranked to top 1% of ESI global ranking. Metallurgical engineering, Power engineering and Thermal physics ranked 11th and 26th respectively among the universities in China in the 3rd round China Discipline Ranking.
LUT has established official exchanges and cooperation with more than 50 universities of the United States, Russia, Britain, Australia and other countries. It’s a member of Belt and Road Alliance of Universities as well as a member of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).It is authorized to enroll Chinese Government Scholarship students. http://gjy.lut.edu.cn/
